Tankbusta Update 3

Was hit with a one two punch in since my last update.  First, my computer’s power supply died.  Then this morning…well afternoon…I woke up feeling a little under the weather.  Luckily recover was quick and I was able to continue with this model.

All the sculpting is done and polypainting has begun.

My computer refuses to add anything more with the orc’s tool so his weapons are gonna have to stand by themselves in zbrush.  Regardless, I’m quite happy that my computer is able to handle 8+ million pixols, which is how much the orc is at the moment.

Tankbusta Update 2

Another long night.  I sculpted his satchel, backpack, and all his armor pieces.  The skin and face still needs some loving though.  Some cuts, subtle skin folds, etc.  I think I have enough to post him on GA or PC and get some feedback.  By tomorrow, I plan to get the grenades, the AT mine, extra rocket, missing straps, and his tank hammer sculpted.

Tankbusta Update 1

Been working on the tankbusta.  Most of the accessories are built and ready for sculpting.  His main weapon, the tankhammer, is ready for sculpting as well.

Project: Ork Tankbusta

Orks, orks, orks, orks!!!

It’s time to move onto the first major project for…well I was gonna say summer break, but there is no more summer break.

I’ve been wanting to create an ork tankbusta from Games-Workshops table top game for a while now but just haven’t had the time to get it started.  The main goal of this piece is to work on:

Continue streamlining the zbrush workflow

Speed

Anatomy and Creature sculpting

Texture work

The sculpt is still pretty uninteresting.  More accessories to be added once the clothes are done.

And refs

I hope to get most of it done by the end of next week.  *Fingers crossed*

FireWarrior Bust and Stuff

Been working on some stuff since college ended two weeks ago.  They’re mainly warm up for my next personal project.  I’m probably gonna leave these as they are until a later date.

First is a bust of Games-Workshop’s Tau FireWarrior.  This exercise had several main goals:

Sculpting from a cube instead of a modeled head

Speed

Form

Getting rid of the last bits of my sculpting timidness

With this next model, well, it’s been about a year since I’ve had the chance to work on a low poly, color map only character and I felt that I should make one before getting too rusty.  Textures are still very WiP.  Unfortunately, I probably won’t be working on this guy for a while as need to do more sculpting.

Johnny StarsandStripes and Moon Nazi

Johnny Starsandstripes is completed for the most part.  The image is a quick shot of the model with it’s textures as seen through Maya’s viewport.  The model is rigged but I don’t have the time atm to pose him.

The Nazi is coming along pretty nicely.  All the baking is done, hurrah!  The shot of the Nazi is displayed using Maya’s viewport with normals and ambient occlusion applied.  Now on to texturing…

Moon Nazi Sculpt

It’s been awhile since my last post.  Johnny Starsandstripes has been completed for a week or two now but I haven’t had the time to make any pretty images of him yet.  Hopefully I’ll remedy that by this weekend.

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on the generic Nazis that would be blasted away by Johnny.
